Exfoliation once or twice a week using salicylic acid or glycolic acid can also be beneficial, as these ingredients help remove the buildup of dead skin cells in the pores. For more stubborn cases, over-the-counter retinoid creams or prescription treatments may be recommended by dermatologists.
In some cases, professional treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or manual extractions performed by trained skincare experts can offer more effective results. It’s important to avoid harsh scrubs or picking at the skin, as this can cause irritation and even lead to scarring.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle also plays a role. Drinking plenty of water, eating a balanced diet, and reducing stress can contribute to clearer skin. While blackheads might not pose a serious health risk, addressing them with proper care and professional advice can greatly improve skin health and appearance.
